Are your spidey senses tingling? It must be because you or your kids are fans of Spider-Man! Spider-Man, superheros, or illustration fans, will be delighted by the first ever exhibition of Spider-Man art at the Society of Illustrators.
“Unlike the fun, yet two dimensional super heroes of the 1930s and 40s, Stan Lee scripted his new characters with flaws, insecurities, and nuanced personalities. These new style comics proved to be popular with fans, and readers as old as college age began to follow the exploits of these famed but flawed super heroes.”
Until August 26th, you can see the evolution of the character through the drawings by the various artists who illustrated the comic.
Art from: John Romita, Steve Ditko and more.
The Society of Illustrators is at 28 East 63rd Street and is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 8pm, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 11am to 5pm.
