Mad Men

It’s so hard to say goodbye but it’s easier with a cocktail. Bid farewell to the most stylish show on TV at Gramercy Park’s most glamorous historic club, The Players, with an exclusive Mad Men Cocktail Party to celebrate the show’s final season, featuring live 1960s-era music, classic burlesque, and best of all, a “classic cocktail menu made from unopened bottles of vintage 1960’s liquor used as props on the set of Mad Men.” Can you think of a better way to channel Don Draper than sipping a 50-year-old rye? Tickets are selling fast so buy soon. Fri, Apr 10; 7pm. $65 general admission/$105 VIP. The Players Club; 16 Gramercy Park South (btwn 19th-20th St).

There’s a chance you haven’t heard of Repertorio Español, but this neighborhood cultural institution harks back to the days of Mad Men itself. Established in Gramercy Park in 1968 to bring the most exciting Spanish and Hispanic American performance to New York City, the newest Repertorio production “Flamenco Untitled” by rising Spanish flamenco star Olga Pericet is a prime example. Lauded for her “fierce energy” and “hypnotic choreography,” Pericet is likely to electrify both flamenco veterans and novices alike. Buy tickets. Until Sun, Apr 26; times vary. Starting at $35. Repertorio Español, 138 E 27th St (btwn Lexington & 3rd Ave).

 MurderFist Comedy

A total change of pace but one of the best in their game, TimeOut calls the comedy group Murderfist at The Pit (Peoples Improv Theater), “as punk as sketch comedy gets.” It’s hard for sketch comedy acts to stand out in Gramercy Park, the unofficial improv comedy capital of NYC, abounding with great comedy clubs like the The Pit, but Murderfist’s loud, raw, weird show has no problem distinguishing itself from the fold. Just leave the kids at home. $10 General/$1Student. Sat, Apr 11; 11pm. Peoples Improv Theater; 123 E 24th St. (btwn Irving & Park Aves).
