Tell it to Oral History Project!
It’s the New York Public Library’s community initiative aiming:
“To document, celebrate, and make accessible the rich history of the city’s unique neighborhoods by collecting the stories of people who have experienced it firsthand.”
The interviews will be available in a preservation archive at The Milstein Division for U.S. History, Local History, and Genealogy, as well as on the New York Public Library website.
“Current, previous, and longtime residents and those who have worked in the Kips Bay are invited to share their neighborhood stories, documenting the past and present history of these communities.”
Take a look at the “Kips Bay” section to hear stories from other people in your neighborhood!
To share yours, contact NYPLOralHistory@nypl.org or 212-621-0552.
If you enjoy editing, you can also contribute to making the stories accessible.
