Tippet Rise on Tour: August Festival features seven new short performance films:

“The films capture gorgeous classical music performances in wonderful and unusual locations across the country, from a tractor barn in Colorado and Ensamble Studio’s Cyclopean House in Massachusetts to the Noguchi Museum in New York City.”

There’s also a “backstage” gathering (via Zoom), on the first night, where Tippet Rise artistic advisor, Pedja Mužijević, and the art center’s co-founders, Cathy and Peter Halstead, will host a conversation with Ensamble Studio’s Débora Mesa and Antón García Abril.

Thursday, August 19th (Day One): Backstage zoom gathering, and performance by violinist and rising star Geneva Lewis, and by Brandon Patrick George, flutist of the Grammy®-nominated Imani Winds.

Friday, August 20th (Day Two): Exciting new works and poetry performed and read by the Grammy Award-winning cellist Arlen Hlusko, followed by a film featuring the wonderful and energetic pianist Jenny Chen.

Saturday, August 21st (Day Three): Pianist (and Artist Member of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center since 1995), Anne-Marie McDermott, plays Schubert’s Piano Sonata in B-flat Major.

Sunday, August 22nd (Day Four): Winners of the American Prize in Chamber Music, Solo-voice ensemble The New Consort performs, and well as Winner of the 2018 Emerging Artist Award from Lincoln Center, pianist Michael Brown, featuring a work of his own composition, Breakup Etude for Right Hand Alone, along with works by Chopin and Mendelssohn.
