Plenty of Films for Kids – at BAMkids Film Fest – until Sunday

Animated film still: A small child puts a wreath around a woman's head

Another film festival is here (aka wherever you are) – to entertain small ones! And the rest of the family.

BAMkids Film Festival 2021

Running until the end of the month, Brooklyn’s favorite film festival has:

“family-friendly shorts, interactive arts workshops, performances, dance parties, and more opportunities for families to get creative together!”

There are short films from 28 different countries.

The showcases are themed.

For Ages 3-5 there’s:

    • Let’s Play!: “Whether you find yourself in the forest, on another planet, or in your imagination, there’s always space to play in this fantastic assortment of lighthearted tales from around the globe.”
    • Animal Party: “Stories of friendship and adventure come alive with vibrant colors, animals, and lots of music in this animated program, which reminds us that friends and family make the world go ‘round.”

For Ages 6-8, it’s:

    • Big Dreams: “No dream is too big, even for the smallest characters, in this collection of international shorts where dreams come true.”
    • World of Wonders: “Join us on a trip around the world with these animated films from seven countries and meet a delightful mix of loveable characters.”
    • Time for Adventure: “Is there anything kids can’t do? In this lively mix of live-action and animated films, you’ll see what kids can accomplish—sometimes with a little help from important grown-ups, but mostly all on their own.”

And for Ages 9+, they have:

  • Stronger Together: “This selection of excellent family-friendly animated shorts includes studio pilots, independent content, energetic student works, and international cinematic wonders.”

Family activities include: Virtual Story-making, an acrobatic dance show (that’s an interactive experience), Little Warriors Rising: Rhythm and Music with BAM Education, BRIC Stop Motion Animation Workshop, and a showcase of short films by filmmakers aged 13 or younger.
