There are two short film programs available, for ages 3+ (stories “brimming with fun and clever stories of growth and transformation”), and for ages 8+ (films which bridge “the gap between little and big for young audiences growing in experiences and ideas” and demonstrating that “you’re never too old to learn a few new tricks!”)

The festival was founded over 20 years ago, in 1997, “to support the creation and dissemination of thoughtful, provocative, and intelligent film for children and teens ages 3-18.”

Aside from the festival, they are an excellent resource for children’s films and activities: Their site has Film Ed from Home, their blog provides film recommendations and talking points, which they also have in their weekly newsletter. The newsletter also offers creative activities.
