I think we can all agree the best part of winter is the holidays–too bad they only last a few days! Here are five Gramercy Park fireplace bars to keep you warm and happy through the rest of winter–no matter your taste. The ultra-chic Rose Bar in Gramercy Park Hotel (above) is the place to be if you like high-end drinks and mingling with celebs. With vaulted ceilings and gold-leaf decor, Warhols on the wall, and an A-list clientele, Rose Bar is easily the most luxurious bar on the list. Reservations are required, and the doors are closed at 9PM. Needless to say, you should dress to impress. 2 Lexington Ave (btwn 21st & 22nd St)
The best thing about Gramercy Park is that there’s a hearth for every taste, and a home for every mood. Taking a hard left, the next bar on this list is Molly’s Pub, self-styled the “most authentic Irish pub in NYC.” With sawdust on the floor and Irish tunes on the jukebox, Molly’s is the definition of a cozy, neighborhood bar. Famous for its 10-ounce burger and warm service, Molly’s is the place to grab a Guinness and pull up around the fireplace with friends. 287 3rd Ave (btwn 22nd & 23rd St)
And for another completely different scene, Cibar Lounge is the place to go for ambiance minus the crowds. Featuring warm, amber lighting, comfy couches, and a specialty martini and cocktail menu, Cibar is made for intimate conversations over cocktails. The bar is fittingly located in an elegant townhouse in lower Gramercy Park. 56 Irving Pl. (btwn 17th & 18th St.)
The next bar on our list, The Globe, is one of the neighborhood’s busiest dives. If you’re looking to unwind with some beers, this is your bar on most nights. On some weekends, the bar turns into one big DJ dance party, although the crowd remains fun, young, and casual. 158 23rd St (btwn 3rd & Lexington Ave)
Walking into The Flatiron Room is like stepping into the past. Velvet curtains, live jazz, and an exquisite whiskey selection make this old-fashioned bar a great escape for a more grown-up crowd. The discerning drinker will especially appreciate the bar featuring nearly 700 bottles of old and rare liquors. Budding connoisseurs should also check out their Whiskey School. 37 26th St (btwn Broadway & 6th Ave)
