New in Kips Bay, Studio, has tasty treats, meals and libations – day and night.
“In the morning, Baker Zoe Kanan presents fresh baked sweet and savory pastries alongside a healthy-ish breakfast spread.”
Try their Honey Sesame Twist, Sourdough Croissant, Chocolate Coffee Babka, Apricot Almond Cake or their Chocolate Morning Bun:
Besides the mouth-watering pastries, the restaurant offers “a full menu, tinged with flavors of North Africa and the Near East“.
Their Breakfast and Weekend brunch has choices like: Shakshuka (yellow tomato, baked eggs, feta ) and Brik-Style Eggs (house phyllo, cilantro, harissa) and juices.
While their all-day menu has options like Eggplant Flatbread (tahini, cashew), 23 Lex Chicken Club (spicy carrot slaw, lemon mayo, pain de mie), Braised Chicken Cigars (pine nuts, sumac), French Fries with harissa aioli and Lamb Kepta in Pita (lemon tahini, cucumber relish, cilantro) and drinks like Cel-Rays of Thyme (Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Pineapple, Tonic) and Queen’s Crossbow (Lemorton Pommeau, Rhum Damoiseau, Apple Cider, Cinnamon).
Studio is open early for breakfast (7am) and stays open late (until midnight Monday to Wednesday and Sunday, and until 2am Thursday, Friday and Saturday).
Jazz Standard, located at 116 E 27th St in Kips Bay, offers jazz music from legendary artists and exciting up-and-comers as well as an extensive drink menu and award-winning Southern cuisine and barbecue.
It also “allow young minds to explore the possibilities in jazz” with their Jazz Standard Youth Orchestra:
“a performance driven program that gives talented and dedicated young jazz musicians the opportunity to perform regularly in one of New York City’s leading jazz clubs often with guest artists from the New York scene. The visiting guests give a workshop to the band members in addition to providing the experience of playing with the top musicians on the scene.”
This means every Sunday, from 2pm to 3pm, it’s “Jazz for Kids” where you and your kids can have lunch – to the tunes of these young jazz musicians (11 to 18)! Hear them performing music from Jazz greats like Miles Davis, Duke Ellington and Charlie Parker.
