It’s #GivingTuesday: Donate Toys & Food for the Holidays

GivingTuesday

“We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back.” Today, December 2, 2014, people all over the world celebrate generosity, and the gift of giving. Watersiders can get in on the charitable action without leaving the complex by donating to the City Harvest Food Drive and the Waterside Holiday Toy Drive. Help us make the holidays a little bit brighter for those in need.

City Harvest helps feed nearly two million New Yorkers who face hunger every year. This year, City Harvest will rescue and deliver over 50 million pounds of food to more than 500 emergency good programs throughout New York City. You can donate prepared, pre-packaged, frozen, and fresh food (following the City Harvest Donation Guidelines) until December 11 to the Waterside Swim & Health Club (35 Waterside Plaza; M-F 6AM-10PM/S-Su 8AM-8PM) and the Waterside Community Center (40 Waterside Plaza; M-F 10AM-4PM).

We are also collecting new and unwrapped gifts for children receiving treatment and the children of adults undergoing treatment over the holidays. The toys are distributed to a variety of Beth Israel clinics, not just as gifts, but for use in waiting rooms. The need for toys this year is very great. You can bring your gifts until December 11 to the Management Office (30 Waterside Plaza; M-F 9AM-5PM), the Swim & Health Club (35 Waterside Plaza; M-F 6AM-10PM/S-Su 8AM-8PM), and the Community Center (40 Waterside Plaza; M-F 10AM-4PM).
