The Simpsons Meet Shakespeare at NYU!
"Is this a dagger which I see before me? Or a pizza? Mmmm pizza…" muses Homer Simpson in the acclaimed international hit, MacHomer. On March 30-31, the tour-de-force comes to the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. From the inimitable mind of impressionist Rick Miller comes this raucous multi-media update of Shakespeare’s Macbeth starring–you guessed it–The Simpsons–doh! After sold-out shows and rave reviews across the country, MacHomer comes to New York City!
Miller reproduces 85% of Shakespeare’s original text delivered by over 50 recognizable voices of The Simpsons cast. Shakespearean scholars in the audience will marvel at the way the humor of the original play is highlighted while newcomers will never see The Bard the same way again! The production is presented by The Skirball Center’s Bid Red Chair Family Series and is appropriate for all ages. You can purchase tickets here and discounts are available for NYU students. Seats will sell out so act soon!
